The handy and helpful folks from NBCUniversal telecommunications have been in and out of our offices for the past few weeks with the promise of new phones. I didn’t think much of it. I don’t think any of us did, really. But then we got to work today. These new phones have video chat.
I know… video chat isn’t a particularly new technology. Our laptops Skype. Our iPhones and iPads have FaceTime. But that didn’t stop us from spending the first half hour of work today calling each other to talk, rather than walking the few feet down the hall to do so face-to-face. Some of us who shall remain nameless also decided that it was time for the Battlestar Galactica Cylon figure from my desk and the Spider-man figure from my desk to have a chat.
