Alaskan officials released thousands of Sarah Palin’s emails today, highlighting her brief stint as governor.
The emails — totaling 24,199 worth of pages — cover the period from the time she took office in December 2006 to her boost up GOP ladder to vice presidential nominee in September 2008. The emails were sent and received by Palin’s personal and state accounts, though only those deemed state business related were actually released to the public.
Citizens and news organizations requested the emails as a vetting tool during the 2008 White House race. It’s just taken nearly three years to process the order due to its sheer volume.
“I think every rock in the Palin household that could ever be kicked over and uncovered anything, it’s already been kicked over,” said Palin this week, unfazed by the email dump.
Palin supporters encouraged people to read through the docs. “The thousands upon thousands of emails released today show a very engaged Governor Sarah Palin being the CEO of her state,” said Sarah PAC treasurer, Tim Crawford. “The emails detail a Governor hard at work.”
The state said it was not practical to provide electronic versions of the emails (doesn’t Alaska want to save trees?), leaving news organizations, including msnbc, scrambling to read through everything.
