Newt Gingrich’s got big plans for shaping the youth of America. The former speaker of the House not only wants to put kiddies to work, he also plans to teach classes from the West Wing.
“I think I will probably teach a course when I’m president,” Gingrich mused to students yesterday at Saint Anselm College’s New Hampshire Institute of Politics. Using the University of Phoenix or Kaplan as a model, the new Republican frontrunner said he would distribute the online class free on the web.
“I will probably try to do something that outlines for the whole country what we’re going to try to accomplish,” said Gingrich, who is a former West Georgia College professor and who holds a Ph.D. in modern European history from Tulane.
Gingrich outlined this class as one aspect of his new social media push to interact with more with voters. He described it as a way “to methodically in an organized way share” goals and accomplishments “so that those people who really won’t understand it can understand it.”
