In tonight’s Rewrite, Lawrence asked you to help Rewrite Newt Gingrich’s answer to what is now the must-ask Gingrich question: What did he buy for $500,000 at Tiffany’s?
CBS anchor Bob Schieffer asked Newt that question Sunday morning on “Face the Nation” and Gingrich responded: “We owe nothing. Well, it’s — it’s a pre— it’s — my private life.” His answer really was that awkward, and that is the exactly how it reads in the official CBS transcript. I did not spice it up with extra punctuation.
