Nancy Guthrie’s family is now offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to her whereabouts, more than three weeks after the 84-year-old was reported missing.
Her daughter Savannah Guthrie, a “Today” show host, announced the reward in an Instagram video Tuesday morning. She acknowledged that her mother, who was last seen Jan. 31 at her house in Tucson, Arizona, may no longer be alive.
“If this is what is to be, then we will accept it, but we need to know where she is,” she said. “We need her to come home. For that reason, we are offering a family reward of up to $1 million for any information that leads us to her recovery.”
The FBI is also offering a $100,000 reward for information that could lead to Nancy Guthrie’s return.
The investigation into her disappearance, conducted jointly by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI, has confounded investigators and the public. Nancy Guthrie was reported missing Feb. 1 after she did not attend a virtual Sunday church service viewing with friends.
Pima County sheriff’s deputies found blood on the front door that was later confirmed to be hers.
On Feb. 10, authorities released home surveillance footage of an armed, masked person appearing to tamper with the camera at her front door. It seemed to mark a significant breakthrough in the case, but no major developments in the investigation have been announced since.
Nancy Guthrie’s children have posted multiple videos pleading for their mother’s return and asking for help from the public.
In her video Tuesday, Savannah Guthrie again urged anyone with information to come forward.
“Please, if you hear this message, if you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward, tell [us] what you know,” she said. “Help us bring our beloved mom home so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave and courageous and noble life that she has lived.”
